ZoomCare is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis! Work a minimum of (3) 12 hour shifts every 60 days. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for providing diagnostic medical sonography services and its various clinical specialties. The Sonographer activities are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with facility policies and procedures and applicable professional standards. The Sonographer functions as a healthcare technician who, working under the delegated authority of the supervising physician, serves as a medical imaging professional providing clinically relevant information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

  • Provide patient services consistent with the Scope of Practice and Clinical Standards for the Diagnostic Sonographer.
  • Apply independent, professional, ethical judgment, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic sonography procedures.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA) and facility policies, and procedures.
  • Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information to ensure that the sonography examination order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of “medical necessity.” 
  • Evaluate patient contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and the patient’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination and associated procedures. Identify and document any limitations to the sonography examination.
  • Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infections disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate with the patient in a manner appropriate to the patient’s ability to understand.
  • Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety, and musculoskeletal injury to the sonographer.
  • Review examination images, synthesize examination results, and prepare the preliminary findings.
  • Refer specific diagnostic, treatment or prognosis questions to the appropriate physicians or healthcare professionals.
  • Acquire additional ultrasound imaging to facilitate optimum diagnostic results for the interpreting physician, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Abdomen (ARDMS ABD) and willingness to obtain OB/GYN registry (ARDMS OB/GYN) within 12 months of hire.
  • State Sonographer licensure, OBMI, required for Oregon.
  • CPR/BLS Certified, or ability to become certified within 60 days of hire.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation.

  • Hourly Pay Rate:  $47-$63 dependent on experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Fit tested for an N-95 mask, must be clean shaven where the respirator seals to the face for fit testing or when wearing the respirator 
  • Must wear a mask as needed
