ZoomCare is seeking a Patient Scheduler to join our team! The Patient Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patient appointments, verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, managing patient records, and ensuring timely communication between patients, healthcare providers, and other medical staff. This is a full time remote position. Candidates must reside in Oregon or Washington.
Available Schedules:
Sunday through Wednesday 7am - 5:30pm
Sunday through Wednesday 8am - 6:30pm
Wednesday through Saturday 7am - 5:30pm
Wednesday through Saturday 8am - 6:30pm
*Training will be remote up to 3 weeks Monday through Friday 9AM - 5:30PM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients or external facilities to schedule patient appointments and ensure that they are properly logged in the system, on the phone or through electronic correspondence.
- Collect, verify, and communicate benefit details of patient insurance policy information during scheduling.
- Educate patients on the insurance verification process and estimates of patient responsibility prior to their visit.
- Confirm patient appointments and provide necessary information to patients, including appointment time, location, and any special instructions.
- Create and maintain patient records including demographic information, necessary paperwork or questionnaires.
- Contact referring provider offices to obtain any necessary information or records in preparation of visits.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and other medical staff to ensure that patient appointments are scheduled efficiently and effectively.
- Respond to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner via phone and written correspondences, or direct caller to appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with other medical staff and third party systems to ensure that patient care is coordinated and effective.
- Delivers quality work and is dependable, responsible, and honest.
- Assist insurance verification associates, when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, required.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in customer service, appointment scheduling, or healthcare settings.
- 1+ years of experience with EHR systems (athenaOne), preferred.
- Experience working in a remote setting, preferably with high volume inbound and outbound telephonic services.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Problem-solving skills for scheduling conflicts, missing documentation and other issues.
- Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office and other computer software programs.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with patients or peers in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.

- Hourly Pay Rate: $21.00-$23.00 depending on experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Communicate with others daily by telephone, e-mail, virtually, or in person consistently throughout the workday.
- Regular exposure, discussion, and processing of sensitive and confidential information related to patient care and coordination.
- Adhering to and applying established process protocols in a timely manner.
- Able to travel to the central office when necessary (6 - 12 times a year).
