ZoomCare is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team!  The Payroll Specialist is responsible for performing all payroll responsibilities in a timely manner to ensure the accuracy of all employees’ payroll information.  The Specialist manages payroll functions, including calculating employee paychecks, withholding taxes, and any other deductions, and maintains accurate payroll records for ZoomCare.

  • Manage full cycle bi-weekly time management and payroll for 700+ exempt and nonexempt employees consistent with labor laws. 
  • Interpret new legislation impacting payroll and labor laws; addressing concerns as warranted.
  • Audit timecards for accuracy and reasonableness along with employee time off balances.
  • Manage and process benefit deductions, taxes, and wage garnishments/levies/withholding orders  consistent with federal and state laws.
  • Process special payouts, bonuses, commission draws, relocation and reimbursements.
  • Ensure accurate processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations accurately.
  • Coordinate payroll processes with departments to ensure guidelines are set and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate payroll tasks associated with ZoomCare out of state employees.
  • Prepare relevant bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports as well as quarterly and annual payroll taxes.
  • Manage internal and external audits related to payroll such as worker’s compensation, 401(K) retirement plan, state audits, W-4s, and year to date earnings.
  • Complete verification of employment, Department of Justice and Department of Labor requests.
  • Oversee the maintenance of current employee data in the HRIS system and audits existing employee data for accuracy; updating as required and ensuring new systems are set-up to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, and paid time off accruals and in line with company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field, preferred.
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience for companies with 200+ employees.
  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience for companies with 500+ employees, preferred.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing, preferred.
  • Ability to process bi-weekly payroll efficiently and accurately.
  • Experience using enterprise-wide payroll systems. 
  • In-depth experience and knowledge of UKG/Kronos payroll systems, preferred.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, MS Office, Windows OS, HRIS (Kronos/UKG), preferred.
  • Excellent numerical and communication skills.Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to interpret/adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and thorough in completing work tasks and projects.
  • Ability to uphold a strict level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to payroll.

  • Hourly Pay Rate: $30-$32 per hour 
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Position is hybrid remote but required to reside in WA or OR states with frequent travel to the Vancouver, WA office.
  • Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than your scheduled hours per week or work outside of regular business hours to complete essential duties of this job.
  • Prolonged periods of standing/sitting and working at a computer. 
  • Close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly in order to effectively communicate with others.
  • Exposure to sensitive and confidential information.
