Purpose:

To provide a professional service for SOL (BARBADOS) LTD.

To ensure efficient use of the company’s resources are employed to execute the delivery and collection of posts, couriers and equipment.

Accountabilities:

MAIL

  • Clear mail from the Post Office Box, sort and deliver to recipients.
  • Frank mail and deliver same to Post Office.
  • Deliver external mail / parcels, thereby providing a courier service for urgent letters and packages.  Ensure that these are properly recorded in the Hand Delivery book.
  • Delivery mail to Head Office daily.

 

BANKING

  • Deliver salary deductions to the various institutions.
  • Take documents to the bank, make deposits, and bring in cash from the bank, ensuring this is done safely and correctly.  Large amounts of cash should be processed at an out-of-town branch of the bank for safety.

 

MACHINES

  • Stock machines with paper daily (photocopier, fax machine)
  • Bind documents as required

 

SUPPLIES

  • Deliver and collect equipment when conferences or courses take place.
  • Purchase supply items as needed based on inventory levels and requests.

 

VEHICLE MAINTENANCE

  • Be responsible for the good working condition and appearance of the vehicle.
  • Every morning check your vehicle against the vehicle check list for any discrepancies and report findings to Supervisor.

 

COMPANY UNIFORM

  • Wear uniform for proper identification with the Company when conducting the Company’s business, even though the Company’s logo should not be displayed for safety purposes.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks assigned by his supervisor from time to time.

Qualification Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 2-3 years relevant work experience
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Other Competency Requirements:

         Knowledge of the Barbados market and operational methods of people in the area.

         Able to self-plan, motivate, and deliver results.

         Demonstrates enthusiasm and an attitude to work well with others in teams.

         Excellent interpersonal relationships.

         Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

         Ability to organize tasks and time, to ensure timely completion of all projects.

         Expresses confidence in dealing with customers.

  • Attention to detail required preventing injury to others and/or damage to vehicles, when operating on public roads.

Other Information:

In addition to basic salary the successful applicant shall receive applicable job grade allowances and be eligible to participate in The Sol Group Pension Scheme and its non-contributory Group Health and Life Insurance Scheme.
