Apartment Maintenance Technician
Description
We're looking for an APARTMENT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN to join our awesome team in Topeka Kansas at Villa West Apartments. This hands on job will deal with make-readies, work-orders, grounds, and shared on-call (once a month). HVAC repair experience preferred.

SCHEDULE:
M-F Daytime Hours 8AM-5PM (80hrs paid time off 1st year, paid holidays)
No Weekends, On-call 1x every 3 weeks
PAY:
$19-21 an hour (full-time) depending on experience

BONUSES POTENTIAL:
Up to $750 quarterly bonuses (based on site performance) $3,000 a year!
$100 for every week you hold the on-call phone and minimum 1.5hrs paid time for emergency calls

What You'll Be Doing:
- Ensure all work orders are completed in a timely manner based on priority
- Make Ready / Turning Units in between tenants
- Painting/Staining both interior and exterior applications
- Manage and adapt a preventative maintenance program
- Exterior structural maintenance as needed
- Managing coverage of a 24/7 emergency cell phone
- Snow removal (when applicable)
- Pool maintenance (where applicable)
- Housing inspection experience preferred (not required)
The Experience We Like To See:
- 2+ years’ experience in maintenance or equivalent
- 6+ months experience in apartment maintenance
- Dry walling including painting and carpentry
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, sweeting copper pipe preferred
- Basic knowledge of electrical including outlets, switches and light fixtures
- Basic repair and/or diagnosis of appliances including refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers and garbage disposal
- Some knowledge of HVAC and/or boiler system knowledge required (where applicable)
- Some knowledge of water heaters both electric and gas
- Problem solving skills
- Be able to provide great customer service to our residents
- Have basic safety training or be willing to go through basic training within 30/days
