Position Title:                   Data Science Maintenance Support, Emerging Talent Intern
Hourly Rate:                    $19.00 (Undergraduate)
 
All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location.
 
 
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
Department of Subways - Division of Car Equipment (DCE) Schedule Maintenance Systems (SMS) group is responsible for planning and supporting the overhaul of Subway Cars.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Revise database in Power BI or equivalent to digitize tracking of subway car parts.
  • Updating forms used in Microsoft Office for subway parts.
  • Gather and organize digital information from various sources.
  • Digitize documents such as train operator manuals.
  • Track forms used to create and manage subway part numbers.
  • Track subway parts that need to be maintained and/or changed.
  • Coordinate with engineers for updated part specifications used on subway cars.
  • Visit shops to gather information about parts and systems used on subway cars.
 
PROJECTS:
  • Manage a document database to manage historical and present Bill of Material (BOM) changes.
  • Manage a document database to manage historical and present Parts changes (G10, G11 and G13s).
  • Transfer digital as well as physical documents to an online medium.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills. 
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
  • Familiar with Power BI. 
 
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA.
  • Major(s) Preferred: Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
