What we offer
We are hiring a Solution Architect — Home Building Operations, Land & Finance to play a pivotal role in shaping how our employees, trade partners, and field teams interact with Mattamy through our core construction and operations platforms. This role will define and evolve the target-state Home Building Operations, Land, and Finance architecture, ensuring seamless, consistent, and scalable system integration as our platforms and operational complexity continue to grow.
You will own the solution architecture for the domains, working in close partnership with platform owners, delivery teams, and enterprise architecture to evolve the broader technology landscape. This role offers exposure to large‑scale construction operations across multiple geographies and project types, with opportunities to grow deeper enterprise architecture leadership capability over time.
What you’ll do
- Own and define the target-state Home Building Operations, Land, and Finance architecture across construction management, purchasing, land development, scheduling, warranty, ERP, and financial reporting platforms — aligned to business goals of cycle time reduction, schedule predictability, and contractor/trade partner efficiency in close partnership with construction, field operations, purchasing, finance, and IT leadership.
- Translate construction operational goals — including automated job scheduling, trade coordination, purchase order and cost control, warranty resolution, and cross-system data consistency — into integrated solution designs across construction management, purchasing, scheduling, and warranty platforms. Extend this to Land domain goals — including lot pipeline management, land development project tracking, and land-to-construction handoff workflows — and Finance domain goals — including ERP and general ledger integration, financial reporting and consolidation, and revenue recognition and sales closing.
- Define the solution architecture for a digitized Plan Library and process-flow platform, serving as the system of record for product designs and enabling governance, reuse, traceability, and integration across HBO systems.
- Enable seamless operational continuity by ensuring shared job, project and/or lot data, real-time schedule visibility, consistent cost and PO data, and end-to-end build lifecycle traceability across field, purchasing, trade partner, warranty, and finance teams.
- Design and govern end-to-end HBO solutions, including front-end, back-end, data, and integrations — with particular attention to data accuracy, system availability for field and trade teams, integration performance for schedule and PO synchronization, and scalability across communities and markets.
- Provide architectural leadership across delivery by identifying process breaks and data gaps across HBO systems, managing risks and dependencies, and aligning solutions to the long-term Home Building Operations, Land, and Finance modernization roadmap.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a strong focus on construction or asset-intensive operational systems — including ERP, construction management, and scheduling platforms — and systems integration across complex multi-platform environments.
- Experience designing and integrating operational systems in complex, field‑led, schedule‑driven environments is highly transferable to this role — even where terminology, tools, or construction models differ.
- Demonstrated experience delivering operational solutions across purchasing, estimating, cost control, and contractor, subcontractor or trade partner coordination systems — and owning target-state architectures aligned to cross-functional home building operations platform modernization.
- Strong expertise in construction or building operations platforms — including systems such as Hyphen BuildPro, Hyphen SupplyPro, JD Edwards or comparable construction, project or ERP platforms used in residential or large-scale construction environments — with deep knowledge of their capabilities, gaps, limitations, and API and integration patterns. Familiarity with Land domain platforms (e.g., JD Edwards land modules, custom land systems) and Finance platforms (e.g., JD Edwards finance modules, OneStream, Power BI) is a strong asset.
- Proven ability to design integrated construction operations system architectures with shared job and lot data, schedule and milestone propagation, and cost and PO consistency — using API-driven, event-driven, real-time, and batch integration patterns across construction, purchasing, and ERP platforms.
- Experience enabling full-stack web-based operational portals and capabilities — empowering trade partners and subcontractors, field supervisors, and warranty and homeowner self-service users — through well-integrated connections to construction management, purchasing, and backend HBO systems.
- Ability to operate within enterprise architecture governance, produce clear architecture artifacts, and communicate decisions across construction and field operations, purchasing and estimating, warranty and customer care, finance and accounting, land development, and IT and enterprise architecture teams.
Bonus points
- Experience modernizing and consolidating Home Building Operations, Land, and Finance systems as part of large-scale enterprise platform transformation initiatives.
- Experience supporting or enabling AI-driven operational capabilities (e.g., predictive scheduling and cycle time optimization, automated PO and cost anomaly detection, construction progress monitoring and reporting, land pipeline forecasting, or financial anomaly detection and reporting) as part of large-scale transformation initiatives.
Compensation
The expected base salary range for this position is $97,500 - $147,500. Actual pay may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, competencies, and skills. We recognize that exceptional situations may fall outside this range, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply.
