Director of Payroll - North America
Description
The Payroll Director is in charge of all functions of payroll including the accumulation, processing and reporting of payroll data, maintaining the accuracy and completeness of payroll records and the timesheet database, as well as leading the reporting process after each payroll. Work with the Accounting Manager and SVP of Finance in setting policies and procedures, correspond with outside vendors and replying to internal employee issues and questions.

Key Accountabilities
Manage the payroll process on an accurate and timely basis for both the US and Canadian division, which is approximately 1,700 employees
Coordinate employee additions/changes with HR and input necessary changes into the payroll system
Enter manual pay adjustments: salary changes, terminations, commissions, bonuses, special pays, relocation information
Full responsibility for the creation, maintenance and distribution of complex payroll reports: G/L uploads, monthly accruals, severance reports, Employer Match details, vacation reports, bi-weekly payroll analysis, labor hours and ad hoc reports for management as necessary
Accountable for tax and regulatory compliance in all 50 states and Canada
Coordinate with ADP US & Canada to ensure all tax filings, issues and reports are complete
Research tax issues and request state and federal refunds when applicable
Submit tax payments for any tax not processed through ADP (i.e. Washington Worker's Compensation, San Francisco annual tax, etc.)
Reconcile quarterly tax reports and W-2's to payroll records
Strong knowledge of T4 and W-2 process and in-depth financial reporting for US & Canada Payroll
Maintain employee payroll files, state tax files, quarterly wage & tax reports
Maintain payroll CD's
Process wage garnishments and child support according to federal and state laws through ADP's WGPS service
What you’ll bring to LHH
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred, or relevant work background
Minimum 7-10 years of payroll background
Strong Management skills (at least 3-5 years)
Solid time management skills and organization
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Position requires advanced Excel and Microsoft Word skills
Demonstrated reporting skills
ADP PayForce or ADP Workforce Now and various report writing capabilities
JD Edwards background a plus
