ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The Director of Total Rewards will be responsible for building and leading the global total rewards function from the ground up. This includes defining the strategic roadmap, designing core frameworks and processes, and start establishing a capable global team covering Compensation, Payroll, HRIS, and People Analytics.

 

As a newly created leadership role, the Director will play a pivotal part in shaping how the company rewards, recognizes, and supports its people, ensuring competitiveness, compliance, and alignment with business priorities. This is both a strategic design and  hands-on implementation position requiring strong transformation leadership.

 

 

 

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

 

  • Strategic Function Build
    • Develop a 1-3 year total rewards strategy & plan aligned to business goals and the company’s global people strategy.
    • Define and articulate the vision, scope, structure, and operating model for the Total Rewards function.
    • Build the C&B leadership team and establish global governance, frameworks, and ways of working.
    • Partner closely with CHRO and HR Leadership Team to embed the total rewards philosophy across the organization.

 

  • Compensation Strategy & Design
    • Review and improve the job architecture, grading, and global compensation frameworks.
    • Review and improve the variable pay, and recognition programs that balance global consistency and local flexibility.
    • Lead global market benchmarking and develop compensation governance, policies, and  decision rights.
    • Support executive reward design-suggesting STI & LTIs.
    • Evaluate and rationalize existing benefits offerings across regions; define a global benefits philosophy.

 

  • Payroll & HRIS Integration
    • Assess current payroll operations and identify consolidation or outsourcing opportunities.
    • Implement standardized, compliant, and efficient global payroll processes.
    • Partner with Finance and IT to ensure accurate payroll accounting and data governance.
    • Oversee the implementation and optimization of HRIS systems.

 

  • People Analytics
    • Define and implement a people analytics framework to enable data-driven workforce insights.
    • Establish dashboards, KPIs, and governance for workforce reporting and analytics.
    • Build capability for predictive analytics and support strategic workforce planning.

 

  • Governance & Compliance
    • Ensure global compliance with employment, pay equity, tax, and data protection laws (GDPR).
    • Partner with Legal, Finance, and HRBP teams to ensure robust audit readiness and transparency.

 

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

 

  • Master’s Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Compensation & Benefits/Rewards, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in a multinational context.
  • Proven track record in building or transforming a global total rewards function.
  • Experience leading multiple disciplines: Compensation, Payroll, HRIS, and People Analytics.
  • Strong background in developing frameworks, policies, and governance structures Experience collaborating with executive leadership.
  • Strategic, pragmatic, and hands-on, able to operate at both design and execution levels.
  • Strong business and financial acumen; skilled in translating data into insights and strategy.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across cultures and functions.
  • Proven ability to build and lead teams through change.
  • Integrity, discretion, and high professional standards in all aspects.
