PROJECT CONTROLS MANAGER

Lead the project controls activities for a team of project controls professionals for a mid-sized industrial specialty contractor.

JOB DUTIES

  • Lead a team of individuals focused on all aspects of project and cost controls support activity spanning a variety of projects ranging in size from $100k to $20M and from simple to high technical complexity.
  • Work closely with operations leads and project managers to forecast future costs and profit
  • Compile, analyze, and report project cost, schedule, and forecasted profit to the project team and executive management.
  • Possess working experience with Cost Control, Earned Value Management, Budgets, Estimating, Change Management, Planning, Forecasting, Reporting Progress and Performance, and Cash Flow Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support in the management of project cost control functions including tracking actual costs vs budget, forecasting costs at completion, and understanding/analyzing WIP
  • Thorough understanding of project accounting and accruals
  • Excellent computer skills within the Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI a plus
  • Schedule and attend monthly project controls review meetings with operations leads and executive team
  • Develop reports on actuals, variances, trends and re-forecast as necessary.
  • Ensures proper Change management throughout the project phases.
  • Develop and maintain detailed Cash flow and Commitment flow throughout the project phases.
  • Assist and support project controls specialist and project manager in financial project close-out.
  • At the completion of the project, develop and ensure recording of the project’s historical cost information and “lessons learned” for future use.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year relevant Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years or more of relevant Cost Control, Planning & Scheduling in Home Office or Field Office experience including experience in training and directing others, OR ten (10) years or more of relevant Cost Control or Planning & Scheduling experience.
  • Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) is an advantage.
  • Working Knowledge of Primavera P6
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Microsoft Dynamics, and Power BI
  • Experience with Sage Timberline Suite of Products a plus
