GEI is seeking a Staff Professional (Engineer, Geologist, Scientist) in our St. Louis, Missouri office to support our environmental consulting and engineering practice in the Midwest. The successful candidate will initially work on a variety of projects including a large environmental remediation project located in the St. Louis, Missouri area.  
  
Essential Responsibilities & Duties  
  • Under supervision of senior staff, will work on a variety of environmental investigation, remediation, and reporting projects throughout the region.
  • Assist in coordination and completion of environmental site assessments through soil borings, monitoring well installation, soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, ambient air, and soil vapor sampling.
  • Coordinate and provide technical oversight to subcontractors, including documenting construction activities and reviewing project specifications.
  • Perform data management and analysis, geologic interpretation or engineering calculations, and prepare correspondence and reports.
  • This position has a field component. Some travel and overnight travel is required. Candidates should be prepared to work in inclement conditions.

Minimum Qualifications  
  • B.S. in Geology, Geological, Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, Engineering Science or related field.
  • Approximately 0-4 years of relevant experience. Previous experience in environmental consulting is desirable.
  • Willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to commit to a safety culture.
  • Knowledge of Missouri, Illinois, or Indiana environmental regulations is desirable.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hr training and applicable refreshers is desirable.
  • Ability to pass a TSA background check.
  • Must hold a valid U.S. Driver’s license and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) upon hire.
  • Due to client requirements for anticipated projects, candidate must be willing to submit to and pass pre-hire and random drug screenings, including urine, saliva, or hair.
  • Due to client requirements for anticipated projects, candidate must be willing to maintain facial hair to meet the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard 1910.134 (i.e., no facial hair that would interfere with the proper seal of a respirator).
