Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager

Your role at GEI. 
 
We are seeking an experienced geotechnical engineer to be a leader in our Woburn, Massachusetts (Boston) office and mentor junior staff.  Our work includes dam/levee, transportation, building, waterfront, trenchless technology, and contractor support projects.  The successful candidate will exhibit a combination of technical and managerial skills in the field of geotechnical engineering, as well as strong interpersonal skills, and experience working with contractors and government agencies.
 
Essential Responsibilities & Duties 
  • Exemplify commitment to technical excellence balanced with client-expectations and satisfaction.
  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor.
  • Manage the technical, financial, and client relationship aspects of geotechnical projects. 
  • Serve as a role model of leadership, company culture, and values.
  • Prepare proposals for professional services and develop new business in areas of specialty geotechnical services.
  • Contribute to strategic planning at the office and regional level.
Minimum Qualifications 
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering a plus.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Experience working on interdisciplinary design teams with the ability to be conversant in a variety of technical fields (e.g., environmental, civil, and structural engineering).
  • 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments as needed.  
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
