GEI’s Buffalo team is growing, and we’re looking for a driven Environmental Project Manager to lead remediation and construction management efforts for a key client in Niagara County, NY. Essential Responsibilities & Duties 
  • Manage the technical, financial, and client relationship aspects of a key environmental project in Middleport, NY and support a variety of environmental projects throughout the country.
  • Prepare technical scopes of work for proposals and projects, project budgets, requests for proposals for contractors, and technical reports.
  • Draft and lead the development of Pre‑Design Investigation (PDI) Work Plans, summary reports, and Corrective Measures Study/Corrective Measures Implementation (CMS/CMI) documentation.
  • Participate actively in professional organizations and conferences; deliver presentations and write technical papers.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals to clients and regulators.
  • Lead proposal teams and presentations.
  • This position has a field component; travel and some overnight stays will be required. 
Minimum Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • 8-15 years plus of previous professional experience in environmental consulting; Project Management experience, including proposal preparation and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated strength in organizational and time‑management skills, including effective multitasking and prioritization of competing project demands.
  • Proactive, self‑directed approach with the ability to anticipate project needs, align work with long‑term objectives, and ensure compliance with Order of Consent requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, producing accurate documentation and project deliverables with strong self‑quality‑control practices.
  • Experienced in coordinating, directing, and overseeing subcontractors to ensure high‑quality performance and adherence to project specifications.
  • Committed to meeting stringent client safety requirements and enforcing the same standards among subcontractors.
  • Adaptable and effective in dynamic environments involving direct client interaction, regulatory oversight, and multi‑party coordination.
  • Willing and able to perform field work as needed, including managing field subcontractors to ensure contract obligations are met.
  • Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments as needed.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management
  • Professional certification in related field
  • Knowledgeable in DER‑10 (NYSDEC, Technical Guidance for Site Investigation and Remediation) and 6 NYCRR Part 375 (Environmental Remediation Programs)
  • Proven ability to mentor junior staff and lead cross‑functional teams
