SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $20 to $33 per hour. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.

 

SUMMARY

As a Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality UAS/UAV products by conducting inspections and tests on components, subassemblies, and finished products. Your meticulousness, adherence to quality standards, and strong attention to detail will contribute to our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement. You may be tasked with other duties as required.

  • Perform inspections on assemblies and subassemblies at multiple stages of the production process including in-process and final.
  • Perform receiving inspection to ensure vendor compliance with quality assurance standards and applicable specifications.
  • Perform and support first article inspection as required.
  • Read and interpret released drawings, engineering change documents, assembly and inspection instructions.
  • Use standard electrical and mechanical inspection tools such as microscopes, calipers, mechanical gauges and other measuring devices.
  • Identify, document, and process non-conforming material in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  • Identify production or test anomalies and support resolution.
  • Communicate and support resolution of quality-related issues.
  • Perform internal audits of specific areas, processes and procedures as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of accepted / rejected material; maintain databases for analysis of non-conformities.
  • Compliance with calibrated tool controls.
  • All other responsibilities as assigned

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:

  • High school diploma or higher
  • Knowledge of ESD requirements and practices
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles, methods, and processes
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Knowledge of wiring and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of inspection processes
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and wiring schematics
  • Experience with aerospace standards AS9100, ISO-9001, and its general practices
  • Experience inspecting a product or system according to specifications and requirements.
  • Experience reading and comprehending standard blueprints and machine & process drawings.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certifications as required by training matrix and specialty.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Desired Certifications: IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
