Cuisinart, a member of Conair LLC, is searching for a Food Scientist with a strong culinary background to develop and improve new and existing products. As a member of the Culinary Innovation team, this role involves a mix of laboratory work, research, cooking and office duties, including developing recipes, analyzing data, food safety, quality control, and creating KPIs. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about food trends and home appliances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product development: As part of the Culinary Innovation team, work with chefs, engineers, product managers and NPD leaders in developing top quality appliances, recipes, and formulations, as well as improve existing ones.
- Research and analysis: Study food and beverage performance, analyze raw materials, and conduct experiments to understand ingredients and production processes in relation to Cuisinart appliances. Research industry and social media trends related to cooking and recipes.
- Process improvement: Design and optimize appliance specific cooking, processing, and packaging methods for efficiency and quality.
- Quality and safety assurance: Conduct safety analysis, develop and implement production specifications, and ensure products meet safety and quality regulations.
- Documentation: Analyze data, create detailed reports, develop KPIs and document findings.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional departments, such as engineering, marketing, product and quality control, to implement processes and testing methods.
Qualifications/skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field is required.
- Analytical skills: Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and mathematical skills are crucial.
- Scientific knowledge: A solid foundation in the chemistry and biology of food, Maillard effect, product development, optimal appliance temperatures for cooking, freezing and extraction is essential.
- Attention to detail: Meticulousness is required for laboratory work, recipe development and data analysis.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed to collaborate with colleagues and present findings.
- Technical proficiency: Expertise in laboratory techniques and relevant computer software is necessary.
- Creativity and innovation: Ability to think creatively to develop new and innovative products.

- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
