Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Business Analytics (Commercial) will help build a new, high-impact analytics capability from the ground up—partnering with global commercial teams to translate messy data into clear insights, prioritized actions, and measurable business outcomes. This role will own the development and harmonization of key commercial metrics and dashboards (leading and lagging indicators), drive advanced analytics, and elevate decision-making through crisp visual storytelling. This position reports to the Director of Enterprise Analytics and will partner closely with Commercial leadership, FP&A, and an offshore analytics delivery team.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial insight & decision support
- Serve as the analytics partner to global commercial leaders across Sales, Marketing, Category and Revenue Management.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses, hypotheses and decision-ready recommendations.
- Identify growth, mix, pricing, promo, distribution, and margin opportunities using analytics and modeling.
- Analyze promotional strategies, including penetration and effectiveness, to help steer the organization to drive what is working and stop what is not.
- Lead product level pricing and margin assessments through elasticity and profitability analytics.
Metrics, dashboards & harmonization
- Define, harmonize, and maintain “single source of truth” commercial KPIs (e.g., net sales, POS, share, distribution, price/promo, trade spend, margin, pipeline/forecast health).
- Build and continuously improve dashboards and self-serve reporting for executive and operating audiences.
- Establish KPI definitions, data lineage, and governance in partnership with Finance/IT/Data teams.
Advanced analytics & modeling
- Develop analytical models (e.g., segmentation, drivers, elasticity, promo effectiveness, marketing ROI, funnel conversion, forecast drivers).
- Lead root-cause analyses and “what changed / why” narratives; simplify complexity into the few insights that matter.
- Proactively surface risks/opportunities and recommend actions with clear financial impact.
Prioritization & operating model
- Manage an “endless funnel” of requests by establishing intake, triage, and prioritization processes with stakeholders.
- Partner with the offshore analytics team to scope work, define requirements, ensure quality, and accelerate delivery—while retaining accountability for outcomes.
- Document processes and create repeatable analytical assets that scale.
Communication & storytelling
- Create executive-ready materials that tell a compelling story visually (dashboards, slides, one-pagers).
- Present insights with confidence; influence decisions across regions and functions.
Qualifications/skills:
- 7+ years in analytics, commercial finance, insights, consulting, or data science roles (CPG preferred).
- Strong hands-on analytics background; ability to work directly with data.
- Proven experience with messy/fragmented data and legacy systems; strong data wrangling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex analysis into simple, actionable insights and visuals.
- BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) knowledge; strong data visualization and design instincts.
- Experience building dashboards and performance management metrics.
Technical Skills (required/strongly preferred)
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and / or R.
- Knowledgeable with ETL/data prep tools (e.g., Fabric, Alteryx, dbt, or similar) and cloud data platforms a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required (Analytics, Statistics, CS, Engineering, Economics, or similar).
- Advanced degree a plus.

Environmental Factors:
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
- This role requires on-site presence in our Stamford CT location.
