General Description
The Lead/Area Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily workflow and work assignments across functional areas such as shipping, receiving, inventory, and packout. This position supports efficient operational performance by ensuring accurate processing of inbound and outbound activities, maintaining inventory integrity, and upholding high standards of productivity, quality, and safety.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Review daily operational requirements and assign personnel to meet workload needs.
- Ensure all shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation is processed accurately and promptly.
- Promote safe and efficient operation of material‑handling equipment and enforce safety standards.
- Maintain and optimize product locator systems to ensure effective use of warehouse space.
- Oversee work schedules to ensure tasks are assigned and completed efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain accountability for employee performance and productivity.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, verification, and data entry related to inventory and material movements.
- Coordinate workflow with other departments based on operational demands.
- Support inbound and outbound activities, including loading/unloading, palletizing, SKU verification, and quantity checks.
- Prepare samples or materials for quality inspections when required.
- Facilitate product transfers within or between warehouse areas.
- Review inventory levels for consolidation opportunities and execute consolidation as needed.
- Prepare and maintain accurate paperwork to support inventory control and product movement.
- Protect and maintain the integrity and accuracy of inventory records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all established company policies, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months of company employment (if internal posting).
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, inventory, or distribution environment.
- Working knowledge of SAP, WMS, Manhattan, or similar systems preferred.
- Prior leadership or lead‑level experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of customer service orientation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Must be a team-oriented individual with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to walk long distances within the facility as needed.
- Ability to perform data entry and computer-based tasks.
- Flexibility to work variable hours
