ZoomCare is seeking a Medical Assistant Float to join our team! The Medical Assistant Float is responsible for delivering the Perfect Visit experience across all service lines. The Medical Assistant Float is responsible for scheduling in person and telehealth appointments, updating medical records, checking patients in and out for appointments, performing blood draws, processing labs and maintaining inventory. Float Associates are required to travel to different clinics as dictated by business needs. 
ZoomCare is committed to supporting the professional development and education of its Zoomers. The Medical Assistant Program is a clinical training pathway for Zoomers who are interested in furthering their medical career. Typically, participants will retain their current position, title and associated compensation while completing the Program. Upon successful completion of the Program, the participant will become a registered Medical Assistant (MA-R) with Washington State and will be eligible to apply for an open Medical Assistant (MA) position with the organization. 
Zoomers are asked to continue their employment with the organization for at least 12 months after successfully completing the Program in a MA position, based on business needs.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Check patients in and out for appointments and maintain the patient’s demographic and insurance information.
  • Process patient payments and expertly offer customer service to patients, helping them understand their insurance costs.
  • Educate patients on how to navigate their ZoomCare medical record.
  • Maintain patient’s demographic and insurance information.
  • Interview patients, record their medical history, and take vital signs. 
  • Perform blood draws and finger sticks while adhering to all written laboratory standards.
  • Apply splints and dressings, and facilitate simple wound management under provider orders
  • Process collected specimens and document results.
  • Maintain supply inventory; order, receive, and store supplies.
  • Work with and maintain basic medical equipment.
  • Provide emergency care to patients when necessary.
  • Ensure the clinic remains clean and neat.
  • Provide routine procedural and/or exam support to the provider. 
  • Complete proficiency testing in the onsite laboratory; and maintain the certification. 
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKG) when indicated.
  • Work with a team to problem solve, provide feedback, and creatively brainstorm ways to improve the patient experience at ZoomCare.
  • Collect various specimens from patients, such as blood, urine, or throat swab samples, based on standing orders and safety guidelines.
  • WA: administer medication and vaccines as directed by a provider. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION  PACKAGE

  • Hourly Pay Rate: $21.50 - $31.50
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1+ year of healthcare, customer service, or administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Able to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Excel in a fast-paced work environment, thriving under pressure and time constraints.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to clinics where coverage is needed, required. 
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from a recognized and reputable organization (e.g., American Heart Association, Red Cross) or the ability to obtain one within 1 month of hire.
  • WA: Must be able to obtain a Medical Assistant- Phlebotomist license within 6 months of hire.
  • WA: Must be able to obtain a Medical Assistant- Registered license within 1 month of hire.
  • Preferred: Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist license or equivalent training experience.
  • Preferred: Current licensure/certification as a; Certified Medical Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, National Certified Medical Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant Certification or prior experience as a Medical Assistant - Registered.

 WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and reaching overhead.
  • Occasional crouching, kneeling, and bending.
  • Prolonged periods working at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at time.
  • Fit tested for an N-95 mask, must be clean shaven where the respirator seals to the face for fit testing or when wearing the respirator.
  • Must wear a mask as needed
