Description

The Deployment Engineer serves as the primary hardware walkthrough, install and testing resource. This position is responsible for performing client site walkthroughs to determine the needs of the site to work with our Inmate Services Hardware. The Deployment Engineer also configures and installs hardware remotely, and/or on-site prior to or during the go-live phase of the project. Troubleshoots issues of moderate difficulty that arise during the installation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site walk-throughs to assess existing infrastructure, document findings, and support deployment planning.
  • Install wall-mounted kiosks, tablet charging stations, and related hardware, including measuring, drilling into concrete, and securing equipment per facility and safety requirements.
  • Install and prepare network racks as required, including mounting equipment, cable management, labeling, and power-on verification.
  • Configure and troubleshoot deployed equipment and connectivity issues, collaborating with internal teams as needed to restore service.
  • Become a trusted client resource by providing service that consistently demonstrates strong product knowledge and work ethic along with respect for the client.
  • Evaluate the severity of an issue and determine if management intervention is necessary to address a serious problem in a timely manner.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple and often conflicting tasks while working independently.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with a wide range of clients, both internal and external, from technical to non-technical and from management to clerical.
  • Focus on providing accurate answers in a pleasant manner.
  • Work through technical issues with customers.
  • Present to the client a courteous, highly professional attitude.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or comparable work experience.
  • Experience working in cloud environments
  • Experience administering and installing applications on Windows servers.
  • Working knowledge of server hardware and network configurations.
  • Basic knowledge of web server technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced, technical environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude
  • Experience with low-voltage cabling, or structured cabling installations.
  • Familiarity with wireless networking fundamentals, including access point placement and basic coverage considerations.
  • Experience supporting tablet fleets, video visitation platforms, or similar audio/video endpoint systems.
  • Experience maintaining deployment documentation, inventories, and installation records.
  • Hands-on technical experience with networking and end-user hardware, including cabling, device setup, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Ability to safely perform physical installation work using hand and power tools, including wall and rack-mounted hardware.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently in the field.
  • Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach when working with on-site stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Ability to work within secure correctional environments while following access, safety, and security protocols.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
