Product Manager
Description
The Product Manager is responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and success of key solutions within the Enterprise Corrections Suite. The portfolio includes solutions supporting inmate financial management, commissary operations, inmate communications, digital engagement, tablets, messaging, video visitation, kiosks, payments, and related correctional services. Working closely with customers, business stakeholders, development teams, and leadership, the Product Manager identifies opportunities, validates customer needs, and delivers solutions that create measurable value for correctional agencies and Tyler Technologies.
CJIS Background: Required to undergo and satisfactorily pass a fingerprint background check in accordance with CJIS requirements.
Occasional Travel Required: 20-40% within the US
Responsibilities
- Own product vision, strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for designated product and market areas.
- Establish organizational alignment and buy-in for product priorities and future investments.
- Develop and maintain published product roadmaps that communicate direction to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Conduct customer visits, workflow observation, advisory groups, discovery sessions, and market research to validate product strategy and understand operational challenges.
- Build and maintain relationships with correctional agencies, partners, and key industry stakeholders.
- Gather and evaluate customer, market, operational, and competitive insights to prioritize product investments.
- Evaluate customer problems, business opportunities, and market needs to identify and prioritize new product investments.
- Partner with Product Owners, UX, Engineering, and business teams to ensure successful execution of product initiatives.
- Lead product release planning and support adoption of new functionality across customers and internal teams.
- Define and monitor product performance metrics, customer adoption, operational impact, and business outcomes to inform future investment decisions.
- Evaluate opportunities for new technologies, integrations, strategic partnerships, and market expansion.
- Support sales activities including demonstrations, strategic customer engagements, and RFP responses.
- Proactively communicate product performance, major issues, risks, and market changes to leadership.
- Contribute to the advancement of the team environment through integrity, leadership, collaboration, and continuous knowledge transfer.
- Occasional travel required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Criminal Justice, or related field. Equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirements.
- 5+ years of Product Management experience in a software environment.
- Demonstrated experience owning product strategy, roadmaps, prioritization, and customer-facing product initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Agile product development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle processes and associated methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functional groups.
- Experience with corrections, public safety, justice, government technology, inmate communications, tablets, commissary operations, trust accounting, financial services, or related operational software preferred.
- Experience with inmate tablets, inmate communications, video visitation, commissary services, trust accounting, electronic payments, correctional operations, or related justice technology solutions preferred.
