Responsibilities
Shamrock Trading Corporation is looking for an Enterprise Data Architect to join our team. This role is responsible for gathering and analyzing data from several internal and external sources, designing a cloud-focused data platform for analytics and business intelligence and maintaining flexible data models. The Enterprise Data Architect will focus on working with the data services team to build an enterprise data solution. An ideal candidate will have proven experience in data analysis and management, with excellent customer-facing communication and careful listening skills.
- Design, build and maintain forward-looking data models
- Centralize and examine data from internal and external sources
- Create and implement framework for reliable job execution
- Act as a liaison to the Business Intelligence team
- Provide technical solutions to improve new and existing database systems
- Understand and fulfill data requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience extracting and manipulating data from a variety of sources, primarily cloud-based
- Expertise in loading and indexing into relational data structures
- Proven experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. Postgres, MS SQL, Redshift, MongoDB)
- Experience modeling and maintaining traditional relational database schemas for efficient data storage and retrieval
- Strong customer-facing communication and listening skills
- Enthusiasm for working directly with customer technical teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data processing and analytics using AWS Glue or Apache Spark
- Experience data processing using Parquet and Avro
- Hands-on experience building data-lake style infrastructures using streaming data set technologies (e.g. AWS Kinesis/Firehose or Apache Kafka)
- Development experience delivering analytics processes using Python or Javascript
- Experience with web UI development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with NodeJS, Express and Angular
- Experience with front-end BI tools (such as Power BI using DAX and M Query)
