Responsibilities
Shamrock Trading Corporation is looking for a Senior Enterprise Architect focused on freight technologies to join our Enterprise Architecture team. The role of an Enterprise Architect (EA) is multifaceted, requiring a broad set of skills to address the complex challenges of aligning business processes, information systems, and technology infrastructure with organizational goals. The responsibilities of an Enterprise Architect encompass strategic planning, design, and oversight of the technology landscape of the entire organization. A Senior Enterprise Architect at Shamrock will provide both technical expertise and inspiration, fostering an environment where complex problem-solving and creative solutions flourish, responsible for:
- Coordinate with business leaders to craft a strategic roadmap for the future technical architecture landscape
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure that project architectures align with the business requirements
- Develop and maintain architectural models and diagrams that represent different aspects of the enterprise (e.g., business, data, application, technology)
- Assess and rationalize the organization's application portfolio
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand their vision and requirements
- Guide the selection and deployment of new applications
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends
- Identify and assess risks associated with the enterprise architecture
- Develop strategies for mitigating architecture-related risks
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements
- Provide guidance on best practices and standards
- Conduct architecture reviews for major projects
- Facilitate and support change management initiatives related to the adoption of new technologies or changes to the EA
- Provide education and training to internal teams and stakeholders on EA principles and best practices
- Mentor and guide other architects and project teams
- Evaluate and select technology vendors in alignment with the EA strategy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus
- 7+ years of experience in architecture, development, data, or a related role
- 3+ years of experience building systems for freight technology, including architecting transportation management systems (TMS)
- Strong communication skills
- Experience presenting strategic technology recommendations to senior leadership
- 5+ years of designing and developing cloud solutions in platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Demonstrable experience in delivering complex technology solutions
- Proven experience with a wide variety of technologies
- Strong understanding of EA methodologies and frameworks
- Experience coaching and mentoring technology team members
- Proficiency in architecture modeling tools and solid understanding of various types of architecture diagrams, such as topology, swim lane, workflow, and entity-relationship diagrams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technology issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven track record of being part of high-performing teams
