Position Overview:
As an Assistant Hospital Manager, you will assist the Practice Manager in overseeing the business, operational and administrative aspects of the practice to ensure efficiency, growth, and outstanding client experience. This is a working manager role where you will balance strategic responsibilities while providing hands-on team support. This role will focus primarily on clinical operations.
We are hiring an experienced assistant veterinary hospital manager to join our leadership team. The hospital leadership team oversees management of daily operations including clinical operations, team management, technical staff training and development to ensure exceptional patient care.
What we are looking for:
· Proven experience in veterinary and pet care management.
· LVT preferred.
· Prior experience in a SPEC/ER setting.
· Strong leadership experience with a hands-on, solution focused, results driven approach.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and improve workflows in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with managing practice operations, staffing, inventory, and scheduling.
· Assist with technical staff training and development.
· Assist with driving patient care standards and enhance communication and education.
· Collaboration with Practice Manager on workflow improvements
· Assist Practice Manager with HR functions including hiring, performance reviews, and training.
· Documents and reports accidents: files appropriate reports.
· Orients and trains new clinic staff members to hospital policies and procedures.
· Assists in resolving issues with pet owners where appropriate.
· Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Practice Manager.
Position Knowledge and Skill Requirement:
· Computer proficiency in using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook).
· Establish and maintain professional, productive and cooperative working relationships.
· Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
· Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a courteous, prompt and efficient manner.
· Active organizational and time management skills to ensure completion of work promptly.
· Possesses the ability to make good decisions, solve problems, and decide on essential matters.
· Leadership: ability to effectively manage and direct hospital staff towards a common goal.
Qualifications:
· At a minimum, 4 years of direct office management experience, including at least two years of supervisory experience, is required in veterinary medicine preferably in a SPEC/ER setting.
· Must have veterinary technical knowledge. (LVT preferred).
· May consider an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience.
