Who we are:
At Thrive Pet Healthcare Urgent Care - Turnersville, we provide excellent care in our state-of-the-art urgent care facility. We care for cats and dogs in the Turnersville, Williamstown, Pennsville Township areas. We offer outpatient, same-day services that provide extended-hour treatment for sick pets who require prompt access to a veterinarian.

Thrive Turnersville is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. As a veterinary assistant, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and restraining patients, to support services including admitting and discharging patients, and client service tasks.
Role Responsibilities:
● Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
● With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
● Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
● Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
● Assist in Client Service Representative tasks when needed (cross-training provided)
● Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
● Be willing to clean and stock rooms, treatment area, surgery suites and lobby to ensure a clean, welcoming environment
Experience & Skills Requirements:
Basic animal husbandry knowledge (canine/feline) required
Must be comfortable handling canine and feline patients
Approved Veterinary Assistants encouraged to apply, formal certification not required
Must be willing to cross-train to support the front desk as needed
Ideal candidate is able to work autonomously with a positive attitude
Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at $16-$18/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
