VitalRADs offers an ACVR approved, private-practice residency position in Veterinary Radiology, directed by Brian Poteet, DVM, DACVR and Bobby Werner, DVM, DACVR. We are a part of Thrive Pet Healthcare, with a nationwide network of hospitals we partner to support. 
For 2026, the residency dates are 7/13/2026 - 7/15/2029. The post-residency work is exclusively in tele-radiology.

VitalRADs is a world-class team of veterinary imaging experts, headquartered in Cypress, Texas (just outside of Houston). The VitalRads team is comprised of board-certified veterinary specialists and other skilled professionals with over 150 years of combined experience in veterinary diagnostic imaging, teleradiology, telemedicine, PACS, DICOM, IT, and veterinary hospital information systems.  Our board-certified veterinary specialists review and interpret hundreds of cases from around the world, every day, from all modalities. VitalRads also has a mobile ultrasound group serving veterinarians in the Greater Houston area. We offer consulting on imaging capital equipment purchasing including digital radiography, ultrasound, CT, MRI, PACS, RIS, and nuclear medicine.
Requirements:  
  • a 1-yr Rotating Internship or minimum 3+ years as a veterinarian
  • 3 professional references
  • veterinary school transcript
  • attended AVMA approved veterinary school, or completed ECFVG or PAVE equivalency prior to start date
  • passed NAVLE
  • Thrive resident applicants must be able to secure United States work authorization upon the residency start date in the application which extends through the entire residency, as well as the 3-year post-residency employment obligation to the Thrive network.This is the dream opportunity for those who want to learn from the best!
