Senior Sourcing Specialist

Purpose:

The Senior Specialist, Sourcing – International Projects is responsible for developing & executing sourcing strategies to reduce costs while developing an understanding of vendor spend and business/operational needs. A successful candidate should have experience with sourcing events, category analysis, and leading international sourcing projects.  Experience in the fuel/midstream/energy space is also desired.  The scope of the position will include, but is not limited to, execution of sourcing processes, contract negotiation/management, & supplier management.

Principal

Accountabilities:

• Lead analysis, development and implementation of cost savings initiatives
• Provide strategic inputs and supply market information to guide business decisions and act as a conduit for procurement activities
• Coordinate negotiations, contract development, contract implementation, and supplier contract compliance
• Work with appropriate stakeholder teams to identify areas of opportunity
• Quantify savings related to opportunity and work with business team to ensure savings are realized through vendor management and budget process
• Conduct ongoing business reviews to ensure suppliers are performing to contracted obligations and service levels
• Lead the suppliers and stakeholders of the supply chain through effective engagement and communication by delivering supplier awareness programs.
• Solicit advice from manager regarding procurement processes and protocol and apply appropriate solutions to issues for stakeholders.

Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a business, supply chain, or technical discipline
• Years of work experience:  4 - 7 years of experience
• Experience in supporting supplier portfolio development
• Customer-focused with excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable

 Proven record of driving cost savings throughout a complex organization

• Fluent in Spanish

Working conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

• Usually, normal office working conditions.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

• Occasional to frequent (up to 50%) overnight travel may be required, including international travel.

• Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
