The Opportunity
Nutanix is seeking a Staff Consulting Architect – Unified Storage & Data Infrastructure to architect, design, and deliver enterprise unified storage platforms across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping enterprise customers modernize their storage infrastructure through architecture, hands-on delivery, automation, and operational transformation. You will combine deep expertise in enterprise storage, Software-Defined Storage (SDS), data protection, disaster recovery, and automation to build secure, resilient, and scalable storage platforms supporting Block, File, and Object storage workloads.

Your Role
Storage Assessments & Solution Architecture
•Lead customer discovery workshops and technical assessments to understand storage modernization goals, business requirements, and operational challenges.
•Design enterprise Unified Storage solutions supporting Block (iSCSI/Fibre Channel), File (NFS/SMB), and Object (S3-compatible) storage services across hybrid cloud environments.
•Architect scalable, highly available storage platforms while defining capacity planning, data protection, replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
Storage Implementation & Modernization
•Lead enterprise storage modernization initiatives, including migrations from legacy storage platforms such as Dell EMC, Pure Storage, NetApp, and equivalent enterprise storage solutions to
Nutanix Unified Storage.
•Execute storage implementations while maintaining consulting scope, delivery quality, and minimizing business disruption.
Automation & Platform Integration
•Develop automation using REST APIs, Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies to simplify provisioning, snapshot management, lifecycle operations, and storage administration.
•Integrate storage platforms with virtualization, hybrid cloud, backup, disaster recovery, and enterprise infrastructure solutions.
Storage Operations & Optimization
•Assess existing storage environments to identify performance bottlenecks, optimize capacity utilization, improve operational efficiency, and support long-term platform scalability.
•Design and implement backup, replication, disaster recovery, governance, lifecycle management, and data protection strategies that meet enterprise availability and recovery objectives.
Technical Leadership & Practice Development
•Lead customer architecture workshops and technical design sessions while providing guidance throughout project delivery.
•Mentor consultants and share technical knowledge across the Professional Services organization.
•Develop reusable Practice Development assets, including Service Enablement Kits (SEKs), automation scripts, reference architectures, migration methodologies, implementation playbooks, and operational runbooks to improve delivery consistency and quality.
What You Will Bring
•10+ years of experience in enterprise storage architecture, storage engineering, IT infrastructure, or Software-Defined Storage (SDS) solutions.
•Experience in customer-facing consulting, Professional Services, Customer Success, or technical advisory roles delivering enterprise infrastructure, cloud, or platform solutions.
•Enterprise Storage Platforms: Deep hands-on experience designing, deploying, administering, and troubleshooting enterprise SAN/NAS solutions, including Dell EMC (PowerStore, PowerScale/Isilon), Pure Storage (FlashArray, FlashBlade), NetApp ONTAP, or equivalent technologies.
•Unified & Software-Defined Storage: Deep expertise with enterprise Block, File, and Object storage architectures, including Nutanix Unified Storage (Files, Volumes, and Objects) or equivalent platforms.
•Storage Networking & Virtualization: Strong understanding of storage networking technologies, including iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, SMB/CIFS, NVMe-oF, and storage integration with Nutanix AHV, VMware vSphere, or equivalent virtualization platforms.
•Automation & Platform Integration: Experience automating storage administration and lifecycle management using REST APIs, Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
•Consulting & Leadership: Proven experience leading customer workshops, facilitating architecture discussions, managing technical stakeholders, and building trusted advisor relationships throughout complex consulting engagements. Demonstrated ability to mentor consultants, navigate technical challenges, and drive successful customer outcomes.
•Communication & Documentation: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with proven experience authoring High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), implementation plans, storage architectures, migration strategies, and operational runbooks.
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience with cloud storage services such as AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, container storage technologies (CSI), and immutable storage or Object Lock capabilities.
•Experience with enterprise backup, disaster recovery, data protection, and storage lifecycle management platforms.
•Industry certifications such as Nutanix NCP-US (Unified Storage), Dell Technologies, Pure Storage, NetApp, VMware VCP, or equivalent.
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
