About the role
You will lead an effective administration team and will perform a variety of high-level administrative duties to support the school in the areas of teaching, learning and research
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to administrative staff and provide on the job training and advice to staff.
- Provide a high-level administrative function within the school ensuring effective and efficient administrative and project support.
- Create a range of high-level documents including various correspondence, presentations, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide financial and HR support and advice and ensure budget expenditure is monitored and reported.
- Provide excellent customer service to students and University stakeholders.
- Complete tasks and communications in an accurate and timely manner, whilst liaising closely with other areas of the organisation.
- Ability to work accurately with detailed information; including data entry, maintaining spreadsheets, managing correspondence, collating data for report and under direction prepare a range of written communication.
- Continuous improvement delivery by reviewing, developing, and implementing enhanced administrative systems and processes.
- Perform other responsibilities, commensurate with the expectations of a role at this level, which contribute to the overall objectives of the school.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- A Degree qualification with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Supervise and lead nominated administrative staff.
- Proven administration leadership experience in a busy, fluid environment (higher education experience highly regarded).
- Experience in procurement and financial processes.
- Strong understanding of administrative policies and procedures and the ability to interpret and apply them.
- Demonstrated success in the delivery of quality customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people.
- Demonstrated skills in strategic and project management and the ability to meet competing deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office (inc Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams) and student administration systems and the ability to learn and implement new systems.
- Proven initiative, organisational and attention to detail skills with the demonstrated ability to meet competing deadlines.
