What is VET at UNDA?

The University of Notre Dame Australia is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and offers a number of Vocational Education and Training courses (VET) at its Broome, Fremantle and Sydney campuses including Education and Nursing. Vocational Education Training (VET) at Notre Dame is dedicated to providing exceptional outcomes to students and industry partners. At Notre Dame, our VET programs equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in the education and health sectors. We provide flexible training options—online, on-campus, and in the field—tailored to meet diverse career goals. We aim to be the conduit to Higher Education by providing the platform to help all students succeed in education and work, to make a career change or as a pathway into higher education through the UNDA registered Training Organisation (RTO). 
 
About the role

Are you passionate about shaping the future of healthcare? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced VET Trainer and Assessor to join our team in Nursing at our Broome Campus.

In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver high-quality vocational education and assessment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Your work will be essential in equipping students with the practical skills needed for their careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and facilitate quality, engaging and interactive training and assessment in Nursing programs, that meet the requirements and standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 and Australian Qualifications Framework in a variety of environments including classrooms, remote communities, simulated settings, industry and workplaces.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance and provide support and constructive feedback on their development and learning outcomes
  • Develop and update training material to ensure they meet industry standards
  • Collaborate and liaise with Healthcare facilities to build relationships and to provide practical training opportunities
  • Maintaining and developing professional relevance and expertise in educational and technical disciplines.
  • Liaising with local industry, other educational providers and the community to ensure that education and training are relevant and responsive to needs.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Bachelor of Nursing (Category A – C).
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Clinical Experience
  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided.
  • Demonstrated Experience in undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.
