About the office

The School of Education (Fremantle and Sydney) offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including initial teacher education for early childhood, primary and secondary teachers, and postgraduate programs in early childhood, leadership and management, curriculum, special learning needs and religious education.
 
About the role

The School of Education seeks to appoint a suitably skilled and driven academic for the Primary Education program on the Sydney campus. Reporting to the National Head of School, you will be responsible for teaching, research and leadership tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical.
  • sessions and studio sessions.
  • Initiation and development of course material.
  • Course coordination.
  • The preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars.
  • Supervision of postgraduate research projects.
  • Supervision of the program of postgraduate students engaged in coursework.
  • Lead research projects.
  • Involvement in professional activity.
  • Consultation with students.
  • Marking and assessment.
  • Attendance at departmental and/or faculty meetings and a major role in planning or committee work.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Commitment to academic and research excellence and pastoral care for students.
  • Hold advanced qualifications and/or recognized significant experience in the relevant discipline area.
  • Possession of a PhD.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Teacher.
  • In determining experience relative to qualifications, regard will be had to teaching experience, experience in research, experience outside tertiary education, creative achievement, professional.
  • Record of demonstrable scholarly and professional achievement.
