ABOUT THE ROLE

The Admissions Office is responsible for assessing and processing of applications to study at the University. Reporting to the National Manager Admissions, and working under routine supervision, the Admissions Officer is required to process and evaluate a range of applications lodged with the Admissions Office and to provide a high level of customer service by offering sound and timely advice and assistance to applicants, students and University staff.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support within the Admissions office and carry out duties across all of the key areas of the Admissions Office operations.
  • Process applications for admissions include receipt, recording, assessment, and generation of offers in an efficient and timely workflow.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of applicant data, timely responses to applicant enquiries, taking responsibility as required in following up with applicants to ensure records are complete and up to date, and exercising quality control over all communication to and with applicants.
  • Maintain internal databases and registers, including identifying and tracking issues.
  • Liaise with internal University departments to ensure effective collaboration, including assistance with the transition to enrolment of students in conjunction with other relevant offices.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Completion of a diploma level qualification with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Previous administrative experience in the tertiary or other education sector will be highly regarded.
  • Highly developed communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Established interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures both internal and external across the University.
  • Experienced in various software packages including Microsoft Office Suite and student databases.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and judgment as appropriate, and work in a flexible and dynamic environment with competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate across multifunctional teams, providing a high level and responsive service.
  • Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
