About the office

The School of Education (Fremantle and Sydney) offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including initial teacher education for early childhood, primary and secondary teachers, and postgraduate programs in early childhood, leadership and management, curriculum, special learning needs and religious education.
 
About the role

This national role leads program development, teaching, and research in Early Childhood Education across multiple sites, ensures accreditation compliance, and provides strategic leadership at School and University levels. The position reports to the National Head of School.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct research in Early Childhood Education, supervise Higher Degree Research students and ensure ethics compliance.
  • Lead in the design, development, and coordination of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate Early Childhood programs, supporting staff and engaging students online and in person.
  • Create and assess teaching and learning activities aligned with accreditation requirements, providing feedback and addressing academic integrity.
  • Contribute to School and University leadership through strategic projects, administration, and mentoring colleagues.
  • Uphold University policies and represent its values in all professional activities.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Possession of a Doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline area and a strong research program including peer reviewed publications and research grant funding. In addition to the requirements for the Academic Classification Level (Level D).
  • Early childhood teaching qualifications and experience teaching in the early learning sector.
  • Current tertiary teaching experience in the delivery of Early Childhood Initial Teacher Education.
  • Recent experience leading Early Childhood academic teams in teaching and research.
  • Knowledge and experience with accreditation compliance and procedures.
  • Eligibility for teacher registration/accreditation in Australia.
  • Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
