About the role
You will be responsible for the provision of HR advice and for responding to queries on the Enterprise Agreement and associated policies and procedures. You will also ensure that all relevant paperwork is appropriately prepared and forwarded in a timely manner
Key Responsibilities
- Provide responsive, sound advice to staff on a wide range of P&C matters.
- Review recruitment requests for compliance with the Enterprise Agreement and associated policies.
- Initiate and action processes in PeopleSoft.
- Provide support in classification/reclassification activities or review of new or changed positions.
- Contribute to process and policy development including undertaking research and analysing HR administration issues by monitoring and reporting on P&C data and trends.
- Facilitate the implementation of cyclical HR activities on an annual basis such as performance development reviews, academic promotions, and probationary processes.
- Implement, and manage a broad range of HR projects and initiatives that contribute to the improvement of P&C service delivery.
- Contribute to the delivery of new starter orientation process, including preparation of materials.
- Support the Senior P&C Partners in the delivery of initiatives, projects and assignments.
- Maintain employment records, ensuring records are kept up to date and maintained.
- Provide high level administrative support on relevant projects including coordinating tasks, undertaking research, ensuring a high level of service delivery and professionalism.
- Actively participate in team meetings and other forums as required and identify process improvement in the context of P&C administrative processes.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Completion of a degree in Human Resources or related tertiary qualification with an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience in preparing HR documentation including employment contracts and agreements.
- Experience assisting in the development and/or review of HR Policy and Procedures.
- Knowledge and ability to interpret industrial and employment related legislation, regulations and Awards.
- Computer literacy and proficiency using software such as Microsoft Office.
- A high level of organisational, time and workload management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines.
- Highly effective communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to always maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team under general direction, to deliver desired timely outcomes.
- An understanding of Human Resources practices and procedures in a higher education or similar environment – desirable.
- Previous experience with PeopleSoft (Oracle) – desirable.
