The Mid-Level Frontend Developer with AEM experience to build and maintain front-end components, templates, and dynamic media, while supporting custom React/Next.js solutions.
Position Title: Mid-Level AEM Frontend Developer
Location: Remote - Colombia
What you will be doing:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Frontend Developer with hands-on experience in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, enhancing, and maintaining a variety of AEM front-end components, templates, experience fragments, and dynamic media solutions. You will also work on custom React/Next.js applications to implement advanced functionality that goes beyond standard AEM components, collaborating closely with design, content, SEO, and marketing teams to deliver scalable, high-quality, and well-documented front-end solutions that improve accessibility, performance, and user experience across multiple devices and platforms. Your responsibilities will include:
- Build, enhance, and maintain AEM front-end: HTML, SCSS, JavaScript/jQuery for components, templates, experience fragments, and dynamic media.
- Maintain custom React/Next.js solutions hosted on the site when requirements go beyond standard AEM components.
- Partner with design, content, SEO, and marketing ops to translate requirements into scalable, well-documented front-end solutions.
- Improve accessibility (WCAG 2.1/2.2), website performance (Core Web Vitals), and SEO (technical and on-page optimization).
- Triage bugs, manage PRs/branches in Bitbucket, and keep the authoring guide and component documentation current.
- Support new builds and functionality related to campaign launches.
- Support governance and template standardization; contribute to international authoring infrastructure.
- Ship new components and improvements to existing ones, including responsive styles.
- Deliver components mapped to templates at a gold standard for adoption by stakeholders.
- Implement dynamic media solutions to programmatically update content across components.
- Contribute to the migration of a secondary domain into the company’s primary domain.
- Stand up and support A/B testing development.
- Create and maintain the live authoring guide to align stakeholders with web governance.
- Run scheduled crawls, manage bug fixes in Bitbucket, and keep boards healthy.
- Get fully trained to back up site infrastructure, reliability, QA, tech-debt reduction, and light DevOps tasks.
Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- At least 3 years of development in AEM and ideally 6–7 years total development experience.
- Strong experience with HTML, SCSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Solid experience with AEM Sites (components, templates, content fragments, Dynamic Media).
- Java experience for AEM component/server-side development when needed.
- Experience with React/Next.js for hosted apps (TypeScript is a plus).
- Familiarity with Bitbucket (branching, PRs) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with automated testing (e.g., Playwright).
- Comfortable collaborating with design, content, SEO, and marketing operations teams.
Desired Skills:
- Accessibility audits and remediations.
- Website performance optimization (LCP, INP, CLS).
- SEO (structured data, sitemaps, metadata).
- TypeScript for Next.js apps.
- Analytics/A/B testing exposure.
