Position Overview

This role serves as an EDI/Boomi Integration Consultant, providing technical proficiency and support within the Information Technology department. The primary purpose of this position is to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of robust EDI systems and solutions, ensuring seamless data exchange and integration processes. Key responsibilities include providing technical support for EDI-related inquiries, collaborating with business partners to translate requirements into effective EDI solutions, and assisting in the continuous and efficient operation of EDI systems. This role requires proficiency in EDI integration, Boomi AtomSphere, and scripting languages, playing a key role in supporting data management capabilities. As an integral part of the organization, this position operates under the Manager of Application Development, interacting closely with both internal teams and external partners. Unique challenges include troubleshooting EDI issues and managing priorities in a fast-paced environment while working towards becoming a subject matter expert.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of EDI systems and services, ensuring consistent integration and functionality.
  • Collaborate with business partners and internal teams to translate business requirements into functional EDI solutions, leveraging core EDI integration skills.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with EDI systems to ensure reliable operation, utilizing standard problem-solving techniques and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical support for EDI-related tickets and project requests, ensuring timely and efficient issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to facilitate the reliable transmission of data between systems using JSON, XML, and Boomi AtomSphere. 
  • Contribute to and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and knowledge base for EDI processes and systems.
  • Perform the mapping and translation of EDI documents, including ANSI X12 and EDIFACT standards, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in a B2B integration role, with proficiency in EDI integration and a solid understanding of EDI standards, including ANSI X12 and EDIFACT.
  • Experience in building and managing EDI transactions sets such as 204, 211, 214, 990, and 997.
  • Proven proficiency in developing integration processes using Boomi AtomSphere.
  • Practical experience with various data formats such as EDI, JSON, and XML. 
  • Working knowledge of databases, specifically DB2, MS SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
  • Competency in JavaScript or Groovy scripting, demonstrating the ability to develop and implement functional code.
Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience with data analytics tools.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and the Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Visio, and Project). 
  • Familiarity with API integration tools and ITIL frameworks. Experience in business analysis, test plan development, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of hosted application architecture or AWS cloud services.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based integration platforms beyond Boomi AtomSphere.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles related to data integration.
  • Ability to identify and suggest solutions to eliminate existing process bottlenecks.
Soft Skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for keeping IT teams and business partners informed about project status.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, enabling the handling of multiple tasks while ensuring quality completion of assignments.
  • Ability to solve business problems by following a process-driven approach to automate and monitor EDI systems.
  • Capability to work with moderate supervision, reflecting self-motivation and accountability in achieving team goals.
