Hiring Range: $129,272.00 – $164,840 per year

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a Psychiatric ARNP or PA-Psychiatry to provide expert psychiatric care to individuals in need. About Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS):
Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization providing comprehensive behavioral health services for children, adults, and families. With a team of over 600 caring professionals, we serve more than 5,600 clients annually, offering inpatient, outpatient, and residential care.
Since 1978, KMHS has been a trusted leader in mental health and substance use disorder treatment. In 2023, we became a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), meeting federal quality standards and expanding access to coordinated, high-quality care for our community.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments for new and returning patients.
- Manage a caseload of clients requiring psychiatric care, including medication and non-medication management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement treatment plans aligned with clients' needs.
- Educate staff and teams on psychiatric medication management, safety, and side-effect monitoring.
- Coordinate care with other medical providers and community treatment partners.
- Document clinical services thoroughly and in a timely manner, utilizing concurrent documentation practices when possible.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide psychiatric care for 24-hour programs.
- Precept and educate medical residents, psychiatric ARNPs, and DNPs when applicable.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: MD/DO or DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) or PA (Physician Assistant)
EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum of 2 years of diagnostic-level clinical experience)
LICENSURE: MD/DO -Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy. Licensed to practice medicine in Washington. Board-certified or Board-eligible. Active and unencumbered DEA license in WA State. DNP- PMHNP specialty in psychiatry. RN/ARNP active license in Washington. Active and unencumbered DEA license in WA State. PA – Psychiatry specific CAQ with NCCPA certification. Active and unencumbered DEA certification in WA State.
Preferred Qualifications:
CERTIFICATION: Specialization in psychiatry (MD)
EXPERIENCE: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)
Performance Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge and practice of evidence-based treatments in psychiatric management of a broad array of mental health problems and severe mental illness.
- Plans for maintaining a working knowledge of current trends in community mental health, including health care reform.
- Willingness to learn and follow mental health rehabilitation standards.
- Experience or willingness to gain experience in working with individuals with psychosis.
- Has knowledge and experience working assessing suicidality and safety concerns, has required state training in suicide prevention strategies.
- Has knowledge and experience working with mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
SKILLS:
- Demonstrates skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, clients, organizations, and the public.
- Communicates and manages care collaboratively with other treating medical providers, including primary care and specialty care providers.
- Demonstrates the ability to operate a personal computer, fax machine, printer, and copier with proficiency.
- Participates in leadership and consultative capacity appropriate to the role in multi-disciplinary teams.
ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated experience in the use of Electronic Medical Record to generate evaluations, clinical notes, letters, and reports on time consistent with agency policy and in accordance with state and federal requirements.
- Demonstrates ability to manage time and schedule to meet patient care needs and agency requirements.
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment: Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods of time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Sustained concentration, emotional regulation, high level of problem-solving capacity, and professionalism.
