Hiring Range: $20.07 – $24.58 Per Hour

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a Pendleton Place Behavioral Health Technician to provide critical support and assistance to clients living at Pendleton Place. In this role, you will help ensure a safe, therapeutic, and respectful environment for residents, supporting daily living needs and behavioral health objectives in collaboration with a dedicated care team. The BHT also acts as a front-line liaison for staff, residents, and visitors, playing a vital role in client engagement and safety



Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients, visitors, and community partners in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Monitor the lobby and common areas for client safety, agitation, and behavioral needs; deescalate situations as needed.
  • Screen and track building access, maintain visitor logs, and enforce facility entry protocols.
  • Reinforce client treatment plans by reviewing alert information and collaborating with the housing team.
  • Answer phone calls and route messages; provide accurate information and courteous service to all callers.
  • Assist the Pendleton Place Manager with scheduling, calendar management, and communication support.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean, organized lobby, reception, and shared staff areas.
  • Support residents with daily living tasks, including safety checks, food preparation, inventory, and hygiene needs.
  • Document observations, services provided, and incidents in compliance with KMHS procedures.
  • Conduct regular mental status assessments and adhere to behavioral support protocols.
  • Facilitate coordination between residents and assigned clinicians, providing transportation or support as needed.
  • Complete all required paperwork, data entry, and charting accurately and promptly.
  • Attend all required trainings and ensure compliance with food handling and counselor credentialing requirements.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: Entry level (no prior related work experience)

Valid Washington Food Handler card.

LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration

 

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)

Relevant experience working with clients with severe and persistent mental illness.

 

Performance Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Maintain a working knowledge and skill in verbal de-escalation skills as outlined in MPAC/CPI training and other agency-mandated training
  2. Maintain basic knowledge of medical records, IS, and HR procedures and forms to answer staff questions and facilitate problem-solving.

  2. Communication Communicates clearly and concisely.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

 

Work Environment: Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods.

 

Mental/Physical RequirementsWhile performing the job duties, the employee is required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, ascend and descend stairs, talk or listen and lift to 50 pounds. Peripheral vision is also required for this position.
