Junior Business Systems Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Junior Business Systems Analyst for the Marketing and Sales Systems Team (MSS Team) at our office in Vernon.  The Junior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for working with business, technical and vendor stakeholders to ensure that system implementations, upgrades, enhancements and changes are well defined and appropriately implemented and supported.  


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with medium to large organization.
  • Experience working in a technology-related position for medium to large enterprises with complex technology environments.
  • Foundational understanding of cloud-based application support and implementation.
  • Experience in a system support role (exposure to case management systems, contact centre systems and field services applications is ideal).
  • Experience with reporting tools, such as Microsoft Power BI.



Trouble Shooting and System Maintenance

  • Troubleshoot, analyze, prioritize and help coordinate the resolution of problems and issues.
  • Provide Tier 2 support for various systems and liaise with the IS Service Desk on incidents or service requests.
  • Coordinate and participate in the implementation of changes, enhancements and upgrades to applications and technologies.
  • Participate in and coordinate all types of testing and quality assurance activities related to applications and technologies.
  • Configure and manage applications and technology according to business and technical requirements.
  • Seek opportunities to automate or streamline business application processes where appropriate.
  • Work with team members to provide leadership relating to troubleshooting and system maintenance.



  • Works with other IS teams to ensure we have strong processes for incident, change and problems management
  • Manages changes to MSS Systems assigned
  • Assists in providing reporting on KPIs for various business areas
  • Assist in Vendor Management


Analysis of Business Requirements

  • Collaborate with internal corporate customers to determine systems requirements.
  • Translate business needs and requirements into coherent functional and technical specifications.
  • Review business opportunities, technical specifications, project proposals and provide advice to determine if the initiatives are feasible.
  • Create ad hoc reports responding to requests for data and analyze business procedures and problems to develop specifications.
  • Act as an advisor and making recommendations in response to new solutions.
  • Ensure that the technical roadmap for the business areas supported by the MSS Team are aligned with other IS roadmaps.


Project Development and Support

  • Participate in the planning and execution of projects.
  • Ensure appropriate IS people are involved in project to validate and build solution design.
  • Act as a liaison between the business unit, the technology team and the support team throughout multiple project lifecycles.

Documentation of Processes and Technical Specifications

  • Participate in the definition and improvement of support processes and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and update of business processes.
  • Prepare, maintain and distribute technical and business user documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver informative, well-organized presentations and communications.



  • Post-secondary graduate with a degree, diploma or certificate in computer science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Special Requirements

  • Ability to participate in on-call afterhours support rotation may be required.
  • Some travel may be required
