Are you mechanically inclined and looking for an opportunity in the heavy-duty tire industry? Kal Tire, one of Canada's leading tire dealers, is seeking OTR Tire Repair Technicians to join our team in our Kamloops, BC. plant. In this role you will work on large haul truck tires, inspecting for damage, preparing tires for repair, patching, and repairing, while maintaining quality and safety standards.

As an OTR Repair Technician, you'll play a crucial role in our commitment to sustainability and customer satisfaction. You'll be part of a team dedicated to extending the life of tires through the retreading & repair process, reducing waste, and minimizing the environmental impact of tire disposal.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Tire Inspection: From identifying areas requiring repair through to the final product, quality control and a keen eye for detail are required.

  • Tire Skiving: Operating hand tools to preform cutting and skiving in preparation for repair.

  • Tire Repair: Prepare and preform repairs including those inside large OTR tires for repair, ensuring they meet quality standards.

  • Independent Work: Work independently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating efficiency and attention to detail.

  • Safety Focus: Maintain a safety mindset and adhere to all safety procedures to ensure a secure work environment.

Job Requirements:

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Previous mechanical experience or aptitude is preferred.

  • Safety Conscious: Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols.

  • Physical Stamina: Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks.

  • Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working collaboratively in a high-performing team environment.

  • Tire Repair Knowledge: Preferred that you are familiar with tire maintenance and repair knowledge.

  • Forklift Experience: Prior experience operating forklifts is an asset.

Hours:

  • Monday-Friday

  • 7:00am-3:30pm

  • All Holidays, weekends, and evenings off
