Role Purpose

The Senior Director - Games EMEA will lead and own the Funko EMEA Games development by identifying new / existing opportunities across all markets. Whilst this will initially be a standalone role In EMEA, this role will work closely with the existing teams (including close partnership with Funko Games in Seattle, US and the EMEA leadership team) to develop, enhance and service a product portfolio for the EMEA markets with specific channel requirements, where relevant.

This role will lead the growth of the game's portfolio through an understanding of EMEA’s markets, including all commercial and legislative requirements. As a key business partner, this role will collaborate closely, educate and train the Funko EMEA sales team to be able to competently identify and maximise opportunities within the game's category, across all channels.  

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner closely with the Funko Games teams in the US and EMEA leadership to help shape and deliver effective strategies and initiatives for Games across the region
  • Work with Retailers at a senior level in order to make sure they have the right product portfolio for long-term partnerships with Funko Games
  • Drive the Funko Games brand, by partnering with internal and external marketing teams
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual games sales revenue targets
  • Attend trade, consumer, and customer visits where appropriate, including international travel
  • Collaborate closely with the EMEA sales teams; educating, coaching and supporting as required to develop a broader understanding of games across EMEA and maximising sales and growth opportunities
  • Gather, report, and communicate customers’ feedback in order to drive future product development with both local and global product development teams
  • Create the right commercial proposition by market, to achieve FUNKO margin requirements whilst also satisfying Retailer expectations.
  • Keep abreast with industry and market trends and best practices including individual market opportunities
  • Positive and visible role in supporting company culture and putting the needs of the company first
  • Marketing, Launch, sustainability and budget management (Incl. P&L ownership and collaboration with EMEA leadership)

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Strong experience of working at senior level within the games and/or toys sectors
  • Experience of designing, implementing and developing games strategies - holding full ownership
  • Ability to demonstrate previous success in the games industry within key EMEA markets
  • Strong commitment to building outstanding and trusted relationships through effective and honest collaboration; values winning as a team rather than self-recognition
  • Strong influencing skills demonstrated at a senior level - inspirational leadership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to maintain the pace of a very fast moving “on the pulse” business - comfortable and effective through change and ambiguity
  • Strong business acumen, professional behaviours, resilience and a passion for work
  • Know who the key/most influential Game retailers are in EMEA
  • Active listener, creative thinker and problem solver
  • Multilingual desirable, but not essential
