Vinyl is the number one stylized vinyl collectible on the market, selling millions of figures to fans around the world.

The Manager, Global Sourcing develops and cultivates strong partnerships with best-in-class suppliers and internal stakeholders as they pertain to the sourcing and production of branded merchandise.  In partnership with the VP, Global Sourcing, s/he is responsible for building and executing Sourcing strategies across cosmetics, apparel, and small accessory product categories. The Manager, Global Sourcing position will utilize knowledge of successful global sourcing and product development strategies, lead, collaborate and produce results with regards to brand extension, product quality, innovations in technology, time/cost efficiency, and revenue growth.

This position reports to the VP, Global Sourcing, and s/he will travel at various intervals internationally to ensure a presence with the Far East-based sourcing teams and supplier community.

Sourcing and Product Compliance

• Implement strategies in partnership with Global PI and Social compliance teams to ensure compliance policies are met across all products and suppliers
• Execute merchandise quality, sustainability, and risk management initiatives with best-in-class suppliers that evolve with both the needs of the business and industry standards
• Develop and deliver Sourcing strategies in collaboration with cross-functional members that meet or exceed financial goals
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members through all aspects of supplier strategy, cost negotiation, placement, product development, product safety/quality, and on-time deliveries. Timely and accurate communication to the team is key.

Productivity and Process 

• Expert in raw materials, packaging, and costing in cosmetics and jewelry
• Existing relationships with a global supplier base with a good understanding of market dynamics
• Optimize merchandise productivity and profitability by identifying and mitigating cost drivers
• Manage sourcing strategies that evolve with shifts in trade policies and allow for flexibility through an ongoing, active knowledge of a dynamic geo-political landscape
• Ability to manage flexible product development models that drive increased creativity and innovation from suppliers and licensees

Strategy

• Identify sourcing strategies that support global distribution while balancing the need for localization and speed-to-market
• Develop sourcing strategies that maximize profitability and minimize risk with a goal of year-over-year improvement
• Understand industry trends to drive and evolve sourcing strategies
• Proactively seek new opportunities, ideas, techniques, and materials to drive product innovation with both new and existing suppliers

Must-Have Superhero Gadgetry

• Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising/Product Development/Design, Business or Supply Chain and/or 5-7+ years of experience managing multiple product categories for a medium to large consumer products retail environment.
• 5-7+ years of significant, proven experience in global sourcing, preferably in Hardlines.
• Skilled in gaining credibility and trust with diverse stakeholders
• Possess working knowledge of international labor and regulatory standards and other established supplier performance schemes
• Possess problem-solving, efficiency, and effectiveness skills that inspire team members
• Ability to drive results, get things done effectively and with a positive can-do attitude
• A drive for continuous improvement and a focus on efficiency and scale
• Exhibits personal responsibility and commitment to his/her work, follow-through, and accountability
• Team Player – ability to build & foster partnerships across functions & departments within the business.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage the macro big picture strategy and solutions with a detail-oriented approach
• Ability to continually evolve sourcing strategies and processes

Compensation & Benefits

Funko offers a competitive compensation package with full benefits and a 401(K) plan with matching contributions from the company.  The starting base salary range for this position in the selected city is $105,000 - $130,000 annually. ​Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role is eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

This position is based in Burbank, CA.  A hybrid model or remote position can potentially be accommodated only if you reside in an eligible state for Funko employment.
