Funko is a purveyor of pop culture and licensed-focused collectibles company located in Everett, WA.  Funko currently holds hundreds of licenses and the rights to create tens of thousands of characters – one of the largest portfolios in the pop culture and collectibles industry.  Funko’s Pop! Vinyl is the number one stylized vinyl collectible on the market, selling millions of figures to fans around the world.

The Associate Output Designer uses ZBrush to prepare 3D sculpted collectible figures to be factory ready. They will work with leadership to build up their knowledge on basic molding and factory limitations. This job requires daily interaction with other Output Designers, Sculptors, and Project Managers to ensure the smooth and efficient production of all Funko toys and collectibles. They will work together with the sculpting team to achieve the best hand-off between artists and the factory. The Associate Output Designer will report to the Sculpting Director.

Your Superpowers in Action

  • Draw upon an understanding of the materials and construction of different Funko form factors to inform the preparation of 3D assets for factory use
  • Understand the differences between factories and their requirements
  • Basic technical proficiency in ZBrush
  • Basic communication skills with the ability to work with a variety of people across multiple teams, including designers and production managers
  • Will need to have an interest and knowledge of POP Culture
  • Ability to multitask with strong organizational skills and the capability of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Learning the basics of molding and factory limitations

  • Ability to manage a large and diverse workload
  • Possess creative vision, strategic thinking, organization, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work with repetitive tasks daily
  • Personal investment in performing and developing an ongoing role in a toys & collectibles team
  • Basic technical proficiency in ZBrush
  • Basic proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Digital Art education or equivalent experience
