Data Engineer
Description
The Biostatistics and Data Management team plays a central role in ensuring high-quality, reliable data supports evidence generation, regulatory submissions, and post-market activities. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to design and maintain the data infrastructure that drives these efforts — enabling efficient data integration, governance, and analytics across our clinical and scientific ecosystem. The Data Engineer will design, build, and optimize data pipelines and APIs to support clinical trials, real-world evidence, and product lifecycle data integration within the Medical Affairs organization. The role requires a strong foundation in data engineering and database architecture, coupled with a deep appreciation for data integrity, compliance, and scientific collaboration in a regulated environment.
Primary Duties
1. Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for ingesting, transforming, and harmonizing data from multiple systems — including clinical databases (EDC, CDMS), laboratory test result databases, and operational data sources
2. Build and maintain data models and schemas optimized for analytics, reporting, and cross-study integration
3. Develop and manage APIs and data exchange interfaces that connect internal platforms, data warehouses, and analytical tools
4. Enable seamless data flow between biostatistics, data data management, and clinical research teams
5. Partner with IS teams to align infrastructure and security standards
6. Ensure data traceability, reproducibility, and integrity across all stages of the data lifecycle
7. Contribute to continuous improvement of data workflows and documentation standards
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
Experience:
Demonstrated ability to work in a regulated or quality controlled environment
