Position Summary
To provide technical support, enhancement, and new applications for existing products and to develop new products; may also serve role as group leader for new product development or current product improvement projects.
Primary Duties
Handles chemicals and liquid preparations common in microbiology laboratory setting.
Prepares protocols and summary reports.
Handles biological samples connected to human blood.
Uses scientific techniques to assess bacterial samples.
Designs experiments to investigate bacterial growth variables based on knowledge/experience of bacterial physiology.
Works directly with internal group when needed for formulation, antibiotics, buffers, solvents and diluents.
Performs documentation related to product development and support, including experimental planning and execution as well as creation of detailed documents.
As team leader designs experiments to optimize technical performance (conduct and analyze relevant bibliographic surveys to support the activity).
Serves as active team participant on conducted experiments.
Generates documentation detailing established protocols and procedures in accordance with standards.
Contributes to the continuous analysis process as well as to the interpretation of results together with the team and deduces conclusions.
Contributes to the ongoing activities relative to laboratory operations.
Performs routine product verifications under company procedures and standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education, Training and Experience
Bachelors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical, BioChemistry
Preferred Education, Training and Experience
Experience with analytical balance, pH meters, serial dilutions, stock preparations.
Experience with antibiotic susceptibility testing methods and interpretation, VITEK 2 and broth micro-dilution experience

IMS collection tools include but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
