Position Summary
This is a software development position. The Software Engineer Co-op will work under the direction of a technical lead and in collaboration with other software engineers to design and develop software application code.

Primary Duties
Analysis and implementation of use cases and user stories in application code, including relational database modeling
Detection, analysis, and resolution of defects and inconsistencies
Creation and maintenance of unit tests to verify function-level behavior
Contribution to automated tests to verify user-level behavior
Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards
Perform other duties as assigned
 
 
Qualifications
Required Education, Training, and Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
At least 1 year of a scientific degree program completed
No previous experience required
Must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in a related life sciences, computer science, data science, or microbiology program
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Written communications, including the ability to communicate technical data in written form
Thriving in a fast-paced environment by managing tasks, multitasking, and adapting quickly to maintain productivity
Skilled in MS Office tools including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
Familiarity with software design concepts and software application lifecycle
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail
