Vermeer All Roads in Colfax, NC is hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll travel daily to customer sites to diagnose, service, and repair Vermeer machinery and components. This is a hands-on position where you’ll work independently in the field, ensuring all repairs are completed safely, professionally, and on time.
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly pay: $25–$40 (based on experience)
- Production bonuses available
- Full-time role with a flexible schedule – no nights or weekends

Responsibilities
- Service, repair, and recondition Vermeer equipment as directed by the Service Manager
- Diagnose malfunctions in hydraulics, hydrostatic, and electrical systems
- Perform welding and fabrication work as needed
- Recommend and document appropriate repairs, including cost estimates
- Maintain accurate repair records and documentation
- Stay current with industry and technical advancements
- Communicate with the factory for technical support
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Hands-on experience with hydraulics, hydrostatics, and electrical troubleshooting
- Welding experience required
- Ability to travel daily within the assigned territory
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Positive attitude with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
