Job Summary:
As a Special Projects Technician you will perform duties that range from design and programming to installation and commissioning of BMS / low-voltage projects. You will be part of a team while also maintaining an independent role with a focus on ownership throughout all phases of the
- Be a team leader and the go-to person for project related items and issues
- Read and interpret Control, Mechanical, Electrical drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code
- specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.
- Design BMS systems and networks to automate building systems.
- Program and commission BMS systems.
- Pull wire through conduits and develop wire pathways.
- Install, replace and/or repair building automation control equipment and devices.
- Mount, install field devices (i.e. thermostats, supply/return air temp sensors, controllers, etc.).
- Perform point-to-point verification on BMS (Building Management Systems).
- Wire/Terminate Control Panels and Unit Controllers.
- Work with other contractors on equipment Startups to ensure BMS integration and communication.
- Attend contractor or customer meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills required:
- Tech-Savvy with computers.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Commercial/construction installations experience a plus.
- Class C driver’s license and clean driver’s record.
Qualifications
• Current LEB / LEA License for OR
• O6 License for WA highly preferred
• 1-3 years of experience preferred
• Experience in the building controls automation industry preferred
