Position Summary:
We are currently looking for a Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. As a Journeyman, you will be involved in the installation, commissioning and servicing of commercial building automation systems. This position requires a good working knowledge of basic electronic theory and Building Electrical / Mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Installs, wiring, BMS and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Studies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of installations.
- Repairs and maintains low voltage systems (under 120V).
- Assist in delivering BAS solutions to our customer base within the Construction/Operation Department.
- Assist with site commissioning, point to point verifications, troubleshooting and startup of a variety of Building Automation Systems.
- Appropriately handles and is familiar with all testing and electrical repair tools and equipment.
- Perform tasks with minimum supervision and in accordance with ESC Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
- Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
- Understand fundamentals of how HVAC systems operate on commercial buildings.
- Work with and understand HVAC and Digital Control fundamentals.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Fluent in English – both written and oral.
- The ability to read and understand construction plans and specs and product documentation.
- Medium physical duties, the ability to stand for long periods of time in a construction environment, the ability to climb ladders and at times work from heights.
- Good knowledge of the electrical trade and the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Adept at installing conduit and pulling wire
