Assistant General Manager of Manufacturing
Description
This position is responsible to ensure the facility follows the concept of SEQCDD. Position will manage daily activities of the Franklin Manufacturing areas (Connector Molding and Assembly) and warehouse areas. It will manage manufacturing superintendent, shift coordinators and leaders; implement daily activities to ensure that the targets for molding, packing and assembly areas are achieved. Lead and develop new improvement ideas for molding and assembly areas. Ensure proper implementation/follow through of division standards and work plans while developing activities to ensure results for production targets, utilization, OEE, IPD, scrap, Noritsu, sorting, etc. meet the planned targets and implement countermeasures as necessary.
Position Requirements:
- 10-12 years experience, including 1-2 years as a manager/executive coordinator.
- Prior Experience working in a multi-shift manufacturing operation (Automotive MFG experience preferred but not required).
- College degree in a field related to manufacturing or engineering discipline.
- Experience in creating an atmosphere where safety and quality are top priorities in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in both identifying and implementation areas for improvement (Kaizen Experience).
- Requires a high level of leadership experience, supervising both salary and hourly associates, and working with all levels of staff and associates.
- Ability to create reports, presentations both orally and written.
- Strong computer skills are required such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. as well as working with ERP systems (ERPLX, MICS).
- Timely reporting and ability to communicate with all levels of management and areas of discipline.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- SAFETY: Lead safety culture at Franklin MFG plant; respond appropriately to all safety issues and concerns. Implement and support activities to ensure all OSHA, SEWS and SWS safety policies are implemented and followed. Lead and participate in safety activities (Safety Audits, ensure periodic training completed, responses to Top Management audits, etc.). ENVIRONMENTAL: Ensure facility is in compliance with EMS programs and activities.
- QUALITY: Ensure proper control for abnormal situations (Abnormal reports, Defective product containment and backtracking). Support customer claim investigations, development of countermeasures to address quality issues and concerns. Develop monthly reports for QCD (quality improvement meeting). Support activity to maintain IATF certification (QMS Management) programs and activities and internal PK activity.
- Confirmation of document control for molding, assembly and packing manufacturing. Ensure manufacturing data is properly recorded as required using proper methods.
- COST(PRODUCTIVITY): Development and implementation of KPIs (targets) and key improvement activity plans are implemented to achieve targets (Scrap, DOI, IPD, Utilization, OEE) for Franklin manufacturing departments.
- Development of headcount and expense budgets for the Franklin manufacturing areas. Monitor budgets to stay within set targets. Maintain proper manning needs for molding, assembly and packing manufacturing areas, working with HR as needed for hiring of staff and associates.
- Ensure system in place for maintaining proper inventory levels of packing supplies for molding, assembly and packing manufacturing (cardboard, trays, etc.) as required.
- DELIVERY: Oversee daily performance of manufacturing areas to achieve set production plans/schedules.
Coordinate with Production Control and other support departments as required to achieve planned production targets. - GENERAL: Oversee daily activities of Connector Molding and Assembly manufacturing areas.
Direct supervision including of MFG Superintendents, Supervisors/Coordinators, Leaders other associates while ensuring proper training and job duties are carried out per work instructions. - Ensure Superintendents, Supervisors/Coordinators are managing associate attendance records. Ensure proper data is documented for all manufacturing processes, such as check sheets; quality inspections; 3S/3D, etc.
