HVAC Installer

 

 

POSITION PURPOSE

 

The HVAC Installer helps to install HVAC systems on new construction jobsites as required.

 

DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

  • Follows direction from HVAC Installer or Foreman.
  • Learn R.T. Moore procedures (Warehouse rec. sheet, folders).
  • Learn HVAC components for heating, ventilation, cooling, ductwork, line sets, low voltage wiring, registers & grilles and equipment for Multi-family, commercial and residential customers.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of duct work rough-in installation as noted per plans & spec.
  • Constant improvement on speed and accuracy required.
  • Maintains organization of HVAC Installer’s company truck.
  • Has interest and desire to learn the HVAC trade.
  • Leadership: No supervisory skills necessary.
  • Direction: Receive guidance with respect to general objectives
  • Safety: Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Teamwork: Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

 

 

  • Working conditions: Will be exposed to changing weather conditions-rain, snow, wind, cold, and heat.
  • Work Environment: Outdoor weather conditions, very loud, wet or humid conditions, working near mechanical parts, working in high precarious places, working in awkward and/or confining workspaces.
  • Work Ethic: Demonstrated solid work ethic.
  • Attendance: Consistent attendance and arriving at required start times.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Planning and Organization: Ability to prioritize assigned tasks and be organized.

CRITICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

 

  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • No prior experience necessary, but would prefer 1-3 years of similar experience
  • Proactive drive for accomplishing tasks successfully in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear, effective communications skills – both written and verbal
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to pass pre-employment background check/drug screen

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

  • Must be able to do the following activities for most of the work day: stand, walk, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, see, talk and hear. 
  • Must be able to climb or balance regularly.
  • Near constant lifting or carrying of items of various weight, typically up to 10 pounds most of the day. Capable of lifting at least 100 pounds on occasion. 
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers and perceive attributes of objects and materials. 
  • Primarily a physical position performing some strenuous daily activities of a physical nature
